Q: What causes bad breath?
Garlic, onions and alcohol are obvious culprits, because they contain odorous chemicals passed from your stomach into your bloodstream, says Steven Butensky, D.D.S., N.Y.C. Drinking water will help, but if bad breath is chronic, see a dentist. Halitosis is often a sign of tooth decay or periodontal disease.
